How to see the Doctor

Please telephone or call into surgery to make your appointment. We will try to offer an appointment with the doctor of your choice.

Patients are allocated a 10 minute appointment with the Doctor.  This is for ONE problem only.  If you think you will need more time with the GP or have an additional problem please let the receptionist know and she can make a double appointment.  The receptionist will ask what the problem is when make an appointment, to ensure you see the right clinician and are appointed enough time.

Urgent cases needing attention the same day will be seen at the end of surgery by whichever doctor is available. Please contact the surgery first if you need an urgent appointment. If you have an urgent appointment this will be shorter than a routine appointment and will only deal with the particular problem in hand. As these appointments are in addition to routine surgeries you may have to wait to see the doctor. Please be patient.

Missed Appointments

We have a high demand for appointments. If you have a prior booked appointment and find you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so someone else may benefit. Many appointments have been wasted with patients failing to turn up for them.

Nurse Practitioner Appointments

The Nurse Practitioner is a highly qualified and experienced nurse who is able to diagnose, treat and prescribe.  Consult her as you would a GP.  Her particular interests are ears, gynaecology and HRT.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone consultations are now being offered as an alternative to face to face consultations. If you feel your problem can be managed via a telephone conversation (eg test results, medication queries) please ask the receptionist to book a telephone consultation.

Telephone appointments with the doctors/nurses can be booked in the same way as traditional appointments.
